Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have to cancel my rental?
If you need to cancel your booking, you can do so easily using the link provided at the bottom of your confirmation email. When you make a booking, you will automatically receive this confirmation email, and the cancellation link allows you to cancel at any time prior to the start of your rental period.
When will my item be delivered?
We aim to deliver your item(s) within the time slot you selected during booking. Occasional delays beyond our control may occur. There’s no need to wait at reception — we’ll call you when we’re on the way and provide an ETA.
Can I still have my item(s) delivered if I arrive after hours?
Yes. If you’re staying in a hotel or apartment complex with secure reception, we can leave the item(s) there and send a payment link for card payment. For scooters, please add the Scooter Damage Waiver if you won’t be present for the handover.
Where should I keep the scooter at night and how do I charge it?
Store the scooter in a safe and secure place, out of rain and bad weather, especially overnight. Charge the scooter every night to ensure full range the next day. If your accommodation has steps or obstacles preventing secure storage, we cannot rent the scooter.
Are the scooters insured, and am I covered if there’s an accident?
All scooters include Public Liability Insurance as standard. You are responsible for the first €300 of any damage; the insurance covers the rest. Optional Scooter Damage Waiver covers damage to the scooter if used properly.
Am I responsible if I damage the scooter?
Yes. You are responsible for any damage during your rental. If you choose Scooter Damage Protection, it covers accidental damage as long as the scooter is used properly.
What should I do if I have an accident or damage the scooter?
Inform us immediately and take photos of any damage. Provide a short written statement. Report any damage right away (broken panels, lights, seats, etc.), whether or not you have Damage Protection.
Do I need to be present to return the scooter?
If you added Damage Protection, you don’t need to be present when returning the scooter. Otherwise, you must be there for a quick inspection.

How to Use a Mobility Scooter Safely
- Ride at walking pace in pedestrian areas, promenades and busy walkways.
- Give priority to pedestrians at all times. Slow down near crossings, doors, slopes, blind corners and crowded areas.
- Use lights after dark or in low visibility – turn on both front and rear lights and reduce your speed.
- Keep to the right-hand side on wide paths or promenades where possible, allowing others to pass safely.
- For footpath use only — these scooters are not designed for main roads or traffic lanes.
- Use drop kerbs (drop curbs) when crossing roads or leaving the footpath — never drive off high kerbs, as this can cause damage or loss of control.
- Take slopes carefully – drive straight up or straight down, never diagonally, and slow down when descending.
- Do not use on very steep hills — including the infamous “Cardiac Hill” in Puerto del Carmen. Very steep gradients can damage the brakes and may lead to brake failure.
- Do not use in rain or wet conditions – water can damage electrical components and reduce braking effectiveness.
- Stop completely before changing direction (forward/reverse) to avoid sudden jolts or instability.
- Keep both hands on the controls while moving. Do not lean out, reach down or try to pick things up while driving.
- Do not carry passengers – no children on laps and no additional riders. These scooters are designed for one user only.
- Charge the scooter every night to ensure full range and to avoid getting stranded during the day.
- Park safely – turn off the ignition, remove the key and leave the scooter somewhere secure and out of the way.
Where You Can Go
- Pavements & Promenades: Safe and recommended. Always travel at walking pace and give priority to pedestrians.
- Pedestrian Zones: Fully permitted. Ride slowly, be courteous, and take extra care in busy areas or near shop entrances.
- Beaches & Seafront Walkways: Allowed on paved or tiled paths. Avoid sand, gravel or soft surfaces.
- Drop Kerbs (Drop Curbs): Always use drop kerbs when crossing roads. Never drive off high kerbs.
- Not For Road Use: Mobility scooters must not be used on roads, main streets, or in traffic lanes. They are designed for footpath use only.
- Not For Bike Lanes: Do not use bicycle lanes or cycle tracks. These are for fast-moving bikes and e-scooters.
- Not Suitable For: Motorways, tunnels, roundabouts, multi-lane roads, steep hills, rough ground or gravel surfaces.
- Safe Tourist Areas: Ideal for resort promenades, hotel walkways, shopping areas and seafront paths in Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca.
Hotels & Accommodation Policies
Most properties in Lanzarote are very accommodating to guests using mobility scooters. Some set reasonable rules (e.g., designated parking/charging areas or limits in reception for safety/space). If a rule affects you, ask reception for a practical alternative (designated area, route, or assistance).
